Read Music
Learning to read music happens the same way as learning to read books – you start with simple, short pieces, and then move on to works of ever greater complexity, always reading at your level, without ever needing to struggle. In time, the difficult becomes the easy. Jordan will guide you in building your music library so that you are always playing music you love and getting better at reading music!
Practice Effectively
Playing piano is something of a sport, requiring the same kind of muscle-memory training. We will focus our practice time on just those few notes that need it the most, and play them very slowly and perfectly, several times, until they suddenly become easier. Jordan makes every lesson into a model practice session, and teaches you to know exactly what and how to practice.
Express Yourself
At whatever your level, once you’ve mastered reading music and playing all the right notes, you can now learn to start expressing yourself! Jordan will teach you how to experiment with choosing your own dynamics, articulations, and tempo changes, taking only the essence from the written score and making the rest your very own.
